AFM Lifter and Camshaft Repair
Many GM V8 engines use Active Fuel Management (AFM), which shuts off cylinders to save fuel. The AFM lifters are a known failure point. Symptoms include a ticking noise, a misfire, or a check engine light. When a lifter fails, it can damage the camshaft, so catching it early matters. We repair failed lifters and camshafts and can discuss options to prevent a repeat failure.
